Hardness Reference Table Introduction

about this tool:

1. hardness: it is a performance indicator for measuring the hardness and hardness of a material. it has many test methods, different principles, and the measured hardness values and meanings are not exactly the same.

2. this tool provides reference comparisons for common hardness unit values such as shore hardness, rockwell hardness, vickers hardness, and richter hardness.

3. brinell hardness (hb): press the cemented carbide ball or carbide steel ball with a diameter of 1, 2.5, 5 or 10 mm into the surface of the material to be tested with a test force of 1 to 3000 kgf and the maximum indentation is measured.

4. vickers hardness (hv): press the square conical diamond indenter with an angle of 136° on the surface to the surface of the material to be tested with a test force of 1-120kgf and the indentation is measured.

5. rockwell hardness (hr): use a diamond cone (hrc) or hardened (tungsten) steel ball indenter (hrb, etc.), press the surface of the material to be tested with a preload of 10 kgf and a main test force of 60, 100, or 150 kgf, and measure its indentation.
